River Crossing Course
- Duration: 7 Hours
- Location: Invercargill, Southland
This one-day course is aimed at keen hunters and trampers looking to learn, expand, or refresh their knowledge of river crossing and travelling in rivers or waterways.
This course covers, but is not limited to:
- River hydrology
- Hazard identification and management
- Safe decision making
- Current good practice techniques
- Group, and self, rescue techniques
This course can be tailored to suit commercial groups or agencies who have employees operating in or near waterways, or may also use buoyancy aids or waders as part of work. Contact us for further information regarding this workplace health and safety training option.
Course Dates // 19th October & 16th November 2024
Course Time // 9:00am - 4:30pm
Location // The course is run near Borland Lodge on the edge of Fiordland National Park, and may use various rivers and streams in the surrounding area. Transport is provided from Adventure Southland to the course location. If you wish to meet at the course location, please contact our office to make arrangements.
This course will only proceed if minimum numbers are met. You will be notified if the course does not go ahead.
Please note: This course is not suitable for children under the age of 14 years. Participants aged under 16 years must be accompanied by a paying adult.
